About the Forum
MSU Agealive hosted its annual Research Forum on Thursday, April 3, 2025, themed “Diverse Living Environments for Aging Well: Exploring Options and Solutions,” focusing on interdisciplinary work that is being conducted on behalf of the aging population, including housing-related initiatives. The event was held from 9 am – 1 pm in person at the MSU Federal Credit Union Farm Lane Branch (4825 Mt. Hope Rd) in East Lansing. An Upper Peninsula remote viewing site will also be hosted at the Ishpeming Multi-Purpose Senior Center (121 Greenwood St) in Ishpeming, where speakers will present virtually. Participants also participated virtually through Zoom.
In addition to opening remarks focused on current housing trends, aging-related research “Gems” presentations were provided along with a special housing panel featuring representatives from the City of Lansing, City of East Lansing, AARP, Shared Use Housing Advocacy Network, and area developers. Exhibitors from area agencies supporting older adults will be onsite at the East Lansing and Ishpeming sites.
Admission was free with registration; online donations are welcome. A date is pending for the 2026 Research Forum. Watch for additional updates Fall 2026.
