Join us for an upcoming in-person Town & Gown Tour: Science On a Sphere at the MSU Museum on Friday, July 17, 2026, at noon, at the Science On a Sphere Gallery, MSU Museum (409 West Circle Drive, in East Lansing). The session will be presented by Carrie Wicker, MSU Museum Educator/Science On a Sphere Coordinator at the MSU Museum.

The MSU Museum utilizes NOAA’s Science On a Sphere technology both as a standalone exhibition and as a creative, dynamic platform for supporting teaching and learning. This immersive technology spans disciplines, offering premade content from ecology to geology to astronomy, as well as the ability to develop custom content. During this session, you’ll be introduced to how the Sphere technology works, the wide variety of content available, and how the MSU Museum uses this unique system for programs and course collaborations.

Wicker is an Educator and Coordinator for the NOAA exhibition Science On a Sphere at the MSU Museum. She is also currently a Technology Fellow with Bloomberg Philanthropies for a two-year grant project at the MSU Museum and is completing an M.A. in Educational Technology through MSU’s College of Education. Over the last decade, she has worked in a wide variety of informal education spaces, including at a zoo, planetarium, nature center, and other museums. Carrie is also a board member of Fenner Conservancy in Lansing, Michigan.
