Advancing Cross-Disciplinary Research for Lifelong Well-Being
Our Role as a Connector
As people live longer, the need for innovative, interdisciplinary aging research is more important than ever. At Michigan State University, AgeAlive is helping position the university to meet this challenge by connecting and amplifying the work of scholars across campus and beyond.
AgeAlive serves as a university-wide hub for advancing healthy aging research and innovation. We bring people, ideas, and opportunities together to support lifelong well-being and strengthen MSU’s leadership in this critical field.
Our Strategic Focus
Our current research efforts are focused on three key strategies:
- Aging Research Network
We maintain a cross-campus network connecting MSU researchers, students, and community partners working in aging and population health. This includes a centralized platform for collaboration, innovation, and showcasing aging-related breakthroughs. - Research Priorities
We collaborate to drive forward aging-related research priorities that secure external funding, align with societal needs, and elevate MSU’s role in global conversations on aging. - Partnerships with Impact
AgeAlive fosters connections between colleges, departments, and community organizations to spark new research collaborations that address real-world challenges of an aging society.
Celebrating Research in Action
Each year, AgeAlive convenes campus and community through two key events:

Annual Research Forum
A showcase of MSU-led research, highlighting new discoveries, interdisciplinary collaborations, and the societal impact of aging-focused inquiry.

Annual Awards Ceremony
A celebration of faculty, students, and community leaders, whose work advances lifelong well-being and promotes understanding of aging as a shared experience.
Get Involved
We welcome researchers, partners, and students interested in connecting through our emerging network.
